The Washington County Board of REALTOR® Association (WCBR) is a trade association that provides REALTORS® with resources and services they need to conduct an ethical, professional, successful and profitable business.
The local association works in harmony with both the Utah Association of REALTORS® and the National Association of REALTORS® to collectively advocate home-ownership and the protection of private property rights. WCBR’s advocacy efforts ensure that the voice of homeowners is heard in crucial issues such as environmental legislation, zoning changes, tax initiatives, transit and road issues and growth policies. The WCBR helps real estate professionals by providing access to educational opportunities and real estate products. Special emphasis is placed on professional training beyond the Continuing Education courses required by the State of Utah for licensed professionals. The Graduate REALTOR® Institute Program is offered in its entirety each year for agents seeking a higher level of professionalism. Being a REALTOR® means committing to a higher standard of ethical behavior than even that required by real estate law. The Grievance and Professional Standards Committee Members are trained in ethics and arbitration and are responsible for enforcing the Code of Ethics. REALTOR® members also give back to their respective communities through numerous charitable fund-raising events. The annual golf tournament, The REALTOR® Built Habitat for Humanity Home, the annual blood drive, and many other events are examples of REALTORS® using their time and talents to give something back to their communities. The WCBR is dedicated to being the areas primary resource for residential real estate information. The association owns and operates the Multiple Listing Service (MLS), which is a large computer database REALTORS® use for access to thousands of real estate listings in the Southern Utah market area. This invaluable tool assists and supports REALTORS® as they serve their clients, both "buyers" and "sellers." Housing statistics from the MLS are used by both the media and area researchers to report on current trends. Ultimately, the Washington County Board of REALTORS® exists to serve the needs of its members as they strive to be successful in their chosen profession while maintaining their role as wise stewards within their own cities and towns. |
